Positive Parenting

Fun and rewarding most of the time, parenting can sometimes be quite tough.   Many parents have told us that sometimes it helps to hear about tips and techniques that can help their child better understand the world around them and take everyday life (like shopping or bedtime) in their stride.

SSBC offer free ‘one off’ group sessions that can give all parents a range of simple and practical approaches to confidently manage their children’s behaviour and prevent problems developing.  Parents can choose the ideas that they feel will work best for their family and circumstances.  As well as making family life more enjoyable, this helps your child to grow up happier too.

Ideal for when your child is 2 or 3, there are four different sessions to discuss very common topics:

  • Dealing with disobedience
  • Hassle free shopping
  • Bedtime routines
  • Managing fighting and agression.

You can come along to all four sessions or just to the ones that suit your family.

"The group is about positive reinforcement that enables parents to make those small steps to making big changes.  I am really passionate about running this group.  Being able to congratulate parents on their achievements that they didn’t think possible.  It’s really great to see such positive results." - Family Mentor
